MOMA Scholarships 2020-21: Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA) Scholarships are the Minority Scholarship Scheme for the students belongs to Minority Communities of Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain and Zorostrian (Parsi). MOMA Scholarships can be availed in 3 (three) different stages which are Pre-matric Scholarships, Post-matric Scholarships and Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for professional as well as technical courses.

Pre-matric Scholarships for Minorities

Pre-matric Scholarships for Minorities scheme is to support financially to the students from Minority Communities of Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain and Zorostrian (Parsi) which covers students from Class 1 to Class 10 standards. Govt. of India intends to disburse 30 Lakh to the eligible students comes under Pre-matric Scholarships for Minorities scheme. Eligible applicants will get up to Rs. 600/- per month.

Eligibility – Pre-matric Scholarships for Minorities

In order to eligible for Pre-matric Scholarships for Minorities of MOMA Scholarships Scheme below are the eligibility criteria –

  • Candidate have to study in between 1st to 10th standards.
  • Candidate who scored more than 50% in previous final examination.
  • Candidate’s family annual income must not cross 1 Lakh.

Post-matric Scholarships for Minorities

Post-matric Scholarships for Minorities scheme will be application to the students from Minority Communities of Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain and Zorostrian (Parsi) who are studying in Class 11 (HS 1st year) to Ph. D. students. The applicants will get up to Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousands) annually along with an amount of Rs. 1200 per month as maintenance amount.

In order to eligible for Post-matric Scholarships for Minorities of MOMA Scholarships Scheme below are the eligibility criteria –

  • Candidate have to study in between Class 11 to Ph. D. level.
  • Candidate who scored more than 50% in previous final examination.
  • Candidate’s family annual income must not cross 2 Lakh.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for Minorities

Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for Minorities scheme under MOMA Scholarships is to the candidates from Minority Communities of Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain and Zorostrian (Parsi) who are willing pursue professional or technical courses at the Graduate or Post-graduate level. The applicants will get a scholarship amount up to Rs. 20,000/- (Twenty Thousands) annually to the selected applicants.

In order to eligible for Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for Minorities of MOMA Scholarships Scheme below are the eligibility criteria –

  • Candidate who scored more than 50% in previous final examination.
  • Candidate’s family annual income must not exceed 2.5 Lakh.

MOMA Scholarship 2020-21Selection Process

  • For Pre-matric Scholarships and Post-matric Scholarships Scheme candidate will be selected based on the financial conditions in regards to the eligibility criteria, however in case of similar financial conditions older applicant will be selected.
  • For Merit-cum-Means Scholarships Scheme, candidates will be selected based on their merit, i.e. percentage / marks of the last passed examinations of academic / board exams (higher secondary / graduation).

Terms and Conditions – MOMA Scholarships Scheme

  • For each community in a State or UT, 30% of the scholarship are reserved for girls only.
  • From a family not more than 2 candidates can receive this Minority Scholarship Scheme.
  • Candidates must attend class regularly.
  • The applicant will not be able to eligible for other scholarship program if he / she receives scholarship under MOMA Scholarships Scheme.
  • Candidates Scholarships can be cancelled / suspended in case of violations of schools / institutions discipline.

Duration of MOMA Scholarships Scheme

Under MOMA Scholarships Scheme, candidate will keep on receiving the benefit for the entire course.

How to Apply for MOMA Scholarships Scheme

Candidate find themselves eligible & want to apply are requested visit the official links mentioned below & follow –

  • First of all, applicants need to register themselves going by the “New Registration” link available in National Scholarship Portal > https://scholarships.gov.in.
  • Read the instructions carefully & then click Continue.
  • Fill the application form carefully.
  • Enter Bank Account No. & IFSC.
  • Upload the documents asked for.
  • Enter a valid mobile no.

Before initiating registration process, students / Parents / guardian are advised to keep the following documents handy:

  • 1. Educational documents of student.
  • 2. Student’s Bank account number and IFSC code of the bank branch.
    Note: For pre-matric scholarship scheme, where students do not have their own bank account, parents can provide their own account details. However, parents account number can only be used against scholarship applications for maximum two children.
  • 3. Aadhaar number of the Student.
  • 4. If Aadhaar is not available, then Bonafide student certificate from Institute / School and
  • 5. Aadhaar Enrollment ID or Scanned copy of Bank passbook.
  • 6. If Institute / School is different from domicile state of the applicant, then Bonafide student certificate from Institute / School.
